The four Ages (yugs) were established and the first three were given names Satyug, Treta, Dvapar. Fourth one was Kaliyug. And four castes came to be known as the kings of four ages. Brahmin, kshatriya, vaishya and sudhra became predominate in each age.

In Satiyug, Vishnu is said to have come to earth as Hansavaar and explained the problems pertaining to metaphysics (The story is there in the eleventh canto of the Bhagvat Purana), and nothing but one soham-Brahm was discussed and pondered upon.

Getting indifferent to maya, people would praise one Lord. They would go to forests and pull on life by eating natural vegetations. Though they lived for lacs of years but they would construct the palaces, forts and grand mansions.

On the one hand the world was passing away and on the other the life current would go stably.






In Gurmukhi ਪਉੜੀ ੫ : ਜੁੱਗ ਆਦਿਕ ਚਾਰਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਕਰਿ ਥਾਪਨਾ ਸਤਿਜੁਗ ਤ੍ਰੇਤਾ ਦੁਆਪਰੁ ਸਾਜੇ। ਚਉਥਾ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਥਾਪਿਆ ਚਾਰਿ ਵਰਨਿ ਚਾਰੋਂ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ। ਬ੍ਰਹਮਣ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਵੈਸ ਸੂਦ੍ਰ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗੁ ਏਕੋ ਵਰਨ ਬਿਰਾਜੇ। ਸਤਿਜੁਗਿ ਹੰਸ ਅਉਤਾਰੁ ਧਰਿ ਸੋਹੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਪਾਜੇ। ਏਕੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਮੋਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਬੇਮੁਹਤਾਜੇ। ਕਰਨਿ ਤਪਸਿਆ ਬਨਿ ਵਿਖੈ ਵਖਤ ਗੁਜਾਰਨਿ ਪਿੰਨੀ ਸਾਗੇ। ਲਖ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆ ਦੀ ਆਰਜਾ ਕੋਠੇ ਕੋਟਿ ਨ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਸਾਜੇ। ਇਕ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਇਕ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਗਾਜੇ ॥੫॥

Of the eighty four lacs life classes, birth as a human is the best. Eyes behold, ears listen to and the mouth speaks sweet words. Hands earn livelihood and feet take towards the holy congregation. In human life alone by the rightful earning, out of one's savings, other needy ones are fed.

Man by becoming gurmukh- Guru oriented, makes his life meaningful; he reads Gurbani and makes others understand (the importance of) bani. He satisfies his companions and takes the holy water touched by their feet i.e. he inculcates complete humility.

Humbly touching of the feet should not be repudiated because in the dark age, this quality is the only asset (of the human personality). People of such a conduct will swim the world-ocean and also get along other disciples of the Guru.

In Varaan Bhai Gurdas Teeka by Giani Hazara Singh (Edited by Bhai Veer Singh ) - Gurmukhi ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਲੱਖ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਰੀਰ ਉੱਤਮ ਜਨਮ ਹੈ; (ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ) ਅੱਖਾਂ (ਸ਼ੁਭ) ਵੇਖਦੀਆਂ, ਕਰਣ (ਸ਼ੁਭ ਬਚਨ) ਸੁਣਦੇ, ਮੁਖ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਜੀਭਾ) ਸ਼ੁਭ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੇ ਵਾਕ ਬੋਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। (ਭਾਵ ਇਹ ਕਿ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਪੰਛੀ ਭੀ ਵੇਖਣ ਆਦਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿਖੇ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਅਸ਼ੁਭ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ “ਕਬੀਰ ਮਾਨਸ ਜਨਮੁ ਦੁਲੰਭੁ ਹੈ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਰ ਕਰੋ, ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਰਕੇ ਸਤਿਸੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲੇ। ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਬਿਰਤੀ (ਉਪਜੀਵਕ) ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ (ਕਾਰ) ਕਰ ਕੇ ਖੱਟ ਕੇ ਖਾਵੇ ਤੇ ਖਵਾਲੇ। (ਭਾਵ ਚੋਰੀ ਯਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਉਪਜੀਵਕਾ ਨਾ ਬਣਾਵੇ। ਯਥਾ:-ਘਾਲਿ ਖਾਇ ਕਿਛੁ ਹਥਹੁ ਦੇਇ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਹੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਸੇਇ॥ [ਸਾਰੰਗ ਦੀ ਵਾਰ ਸਲੋਕ ਮ: ੧-੨੨] (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ) ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਸਫਲ ਹੈ (ਜੋ) ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ (ਆਪ) ਪੜ੍ਹਕੇ ਤੇ ਸਮਝਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ; (ਭਾਵ ਦੀਵਾ ਬਾਲਕੇ ਪੜੋਪੇ ਹੇਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੁਕਾਉਂਦੇ, ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਚਾਨਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ)। ਗੁਰ ਭਾਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਦੇ, (ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਣ ਧੋਕੇ) ਚਰਨ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪੀਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਭਾਵ ਅੰਗੂਠਾ ਧੋਕੇ ਕਿੰਚਤ ਚਰਣਾਂਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਯਥਾ:-’ਚਰਨ ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਧੋਇ ਧੋਇ ਪੀਉ॥ ਅਰਪਿ ਸਾਧ ਕਉ ਅਪਨਾ ਜੀਉ॥’ ਦਸਮੇਂ ਜਾਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਖੰਡੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਯਾਦਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਕੇ ਇਸ ਮ (ਇਸ ਉਕਤ ਪੌੜੀ ਦਾ ਸਿੱਟਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ-ਕਿ) ਪੈਰੀ ਪੈਣਾ ਨਾ ਛੱਡੀਏ, ਕਲਜੁਗ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿਖੇ (ਨਿੰਮ੍ਰਤਾ ਹੀ) ਸੱਚਾ ਰਾਹ ਹੈ। (ਕਿ ਓਹ) ਗੁਰਸਿਖ (ਜੋ ਇਸ ਰਸਤੇ ਚੱਲਣਗੇ) ਆਪ ਤਰਨਗੇ (ਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੀ) ਤਾਰਨਗੇ। (ਯਥਾ:-’ਮੰਨੈ ਤਰੈ ਤਾਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਿਖ॥ ਮੰਨੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵਹਿ ਨ ਭਿਖ॥’ ਦਸਮੇਂ ਜਾਮੇ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ‘ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਹਿ ਦੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਯਾਦਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੀ।

First of all, when no breath and body was there nothing was visible in the pitch darkness. The body was created through the blood(of mother) and semen (of father) and the five elements were joined judiciously. Air, water, fire and earth was put together. The fifth element sky (void) was kept in between and creator God, the sixth one, invisibly permeated among all.

To create the human body, five elements and twenty five qualities opposite to each other were joined and mixed. Four life originating mines (egg foetus sweatborn , vegetation) and four speeches(para, pasyanti, madhyama, vaikhari) were assimiliated into each other andthe drama of transmigration was enacted.

Thus eighty four lacs; 8.4 Million; species were created.

In Hindi Transliteration प्रिथमै सासि न मास सनि अंध धुंध कछु खबरि न पाई । रकति बिंद की देहि रचि पंचि तत की जड़ित जड़ाई । पउण पाणी बैसंतरो चउथी धरती संगि मिलाई । पंचमि विचि आकासु करि करता छटमु अदिसटु समाई । पंच तत पंचीसि गुनि सत्र मित्र मिलि देहि बणाई । खाणी बाणी चलितु करि आवा गउणु चरित दिखाई । चउरासीह लख जोनि उपाई ॥२॥ Gurmukhi ਪਹਿਲੇ ਪਹਿਲ (ਜਦੋਂ) ਸਾਹ ਤੇ ਮਾਸ (ਕੁਝ ਬੀ) ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, (ਤਦੋਂ) ਅੰਧ ਧੁੰਦ (ਹਨੇਰ ਘੁੰਮ ਘੇਰ ਸੀ) ਕੁਝ ਸੋਝੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਸੀ। (ਮਾਤਾ ਦੇ) ਲਹੂ ਤੇ (ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ) ਬੀਰਜ ਦੀ ਦੇਹ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ (ਉਸੇ ਨੇ) ਪੰਜ ਤੰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਜੜਾਉ ਜੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। (ਅਗੇ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਉਂ ਦੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ:) ਵਾਯੂ, ਪਾਣੀ, ਅੱਗ ਤੇ ਚੌਥੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਲ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤੇ ਪੰਜਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਛੀਵਾਂ (ਆਪ) ਕਰਤਾ ਗੁਪਤ (ਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਿਦੇ ਵਿਖੇ) ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ (ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਜੜ੍ਹ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਤਾ ਦੇਕੇ ਚਲਾਵੇ)। ਪੰਚ ਤੱਤ ਤੇ ਪੰਝੀ ਪ੍ਰਕ੍ਰਿਤਾਂ (ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪੋ ਵਿਚ) ਸ਼ਤ੍ਰ (ਸਨ), ਮੇਲ ਕੇ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਦੇਹ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ। (ਭਾਵ ਅੱਗ, ਪਾਣੀ, ਮਿਟੀ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪੋ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ੀਂਹ ਬਕਰੀ ਵਾਙੂ ਸਨ ਕੱਠੇ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੇ)। (ਚਾਰ) ਖਾਣੀਆਂ (ਅੰਡਜ, ਜੇਰਜ, ਸੇਤਜ, ਉਤਭੁਜ, ਤੇ ਚਾਰ) ਬਾਣੀਆਂ (ਪਰਾ, ਪਸੰਤੀ, ਮੱਧਮਾ, ਬੈਖਰੀ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ) ਚਲਾਉ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਵਗੌਣ ਦਾ ਚਰਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ। ਐਉਂ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਲਖ ਜੂਨਾਂ ਰਚ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

I bow before the Guru (Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji) who recited the Satnam mantra (for the world). Getting (the creatures) across the world ocean He raptly merged them in liberation. He destroyed the fear of transmigration and decimated the malady of doubt and separation. The world is only illusion which carried with it much of birth, death and sufferings. The fear of the rod of Yama is not dispelled and the sakts, the followers of the goddess, have lost their lives in vain. Those who have caught hold of the feet of the Guru have been liberated through the true Word. Now being full of loving devotion they celebrate the gurprubs (anniversaries of the Gurus) and their acts of remembrance of God, charity and holy ablutions, inspire others also. As someone sows, so he reaps.
